Mick Lynch is a singer and songwriter from Dublin, Ireland, living in Upstate New York.
Mick Lynch is a co-founding member of the Irish band The Guggenheim Grotto(later Storyman)
His music has featured in many TV/Film soundtracks, including One Tree Hill, Pretty Little Liars, Men in Trees, Eli Stone and Brothers and Sisters.
The band’s four studio albums enjoyed great critical acclaim, topping the iTunes folk charts in the US and in Ireland.
Of their debut album “Waltzing Alone”, in 2005 , Nic Harcourt of LA’s KCRW declared it “one of the most beautiful records of the year”
Their song “Philosophia” was such a favorite of Steve Jobs that he made sure it featured on the very first iPhone models.
An Independent Music award followed in 2007 for best folk song/songwriting.
Parting ways with his writing partner, Kevin May, in 2013, Lynch has concentrated on his solo projects, releasing “Aliens, Ghosts and Lovers” in 2015.
Single releases followed with Lawrence of Arabia(2022), Treading Water(2022) and Cold Old River(2023), the latter a duet with Mary Stuart Masterson.
His latest single “The Last Great October Snow” was released October 17th, 2025
Lynch’s one man show, An Irish Goodbye, directed by Will Chase (Nashville, Stranger Things, A Crowded Room) made its stage debut in April 2024 at Kaatsbaan Cultural Center, in Tivoli NY, to rave reviews.
An Irish Goodbye, with Lynch’s songs and visuals, is a tale of love and loss, of Lynch’s family back home in Ireland and his musical journey that ultimately led him to call Upstate NY home.
